Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students who were not screened during Spring 2026 are required to complete a screening before the start of the school year.

The final screening will be held on Friday, July 31, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Metropolis Elementary School. Screenings take approximately one hour per child. To schedule an appointment, please contact Kristin Rousseau at 618-524-9376, ext. 101.

Parents should bring the following to their child's appointment:

State-issued birth certificate
Proof of residency
Immunization records
School physical

Please note that Kindergarten students must also complete in-person registration, even if they attend a screening. In-person registration will be held on Monday, August 3, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Metropolis Elementary School. This registration is for all new or returning K-6 students who can't register online.
