Just a friendly reminder, tomorrow is the first day of school for 1st through 5th graders! Doors open at 7:20am, school starts at 7:30am.

Friendly reminders:
- If your student is walking, please have them enter through the doors by the gym.
- If you are dropping your student off you have two options. The first is to stay in your vehicle and follow the gravel path to the south of the building. When you get to the gates by the playground, have your student get out on the passenger side. If you are driving your student and wanting to walk them in, please park in the gravel parking lot to the south of the school, use the crosswalk in the parking lot and walk your student to the gym doors.
-For safety reasons, we are not allowing parents to walk their students into the building. We have all staff ready to help students find their way to their classrooms.

We are very exicted to welcome students back in the building!

We're proud of you Grady! Keep up the great work!

We’re so excited to recognize our next student as part of our student spotlight program, Flourishing in 509J! ⭐

Grady Murphy is a Kindergartener at Metolius Elementary! He was nominated by his teacher, Mrs. Thompson

“Grady is a silent leader in our classroom who leads by example every single day. He is always ready to learn and consistently gives his best effort during classwork and whole-group instruction. His quiet confidence inspires others, and many of his classmates naturally look to him as a role model. Grady is kind, inclusive, and always willing to lend a helping hand. He is a true friend to all and embodies what it means to flourish in 509J.”

Grady is loving his first year of school. He enjoys learning new things, being a good friend, and playing with the other students at recess. He really likes his teacher and says she is nice.

"I am good at math, and I hope in 1st grade we get to do harder equations."

Way to go, Grady! You are a true example of how Students Flourish Here. ✨

This week, staff at Metolius Elementary were treated with an exceptional display of generosity from some of their wonderful parents.
'
In a gesture that warmed both hearts and stomachs, some parents stepped up to provide our hardworking staff with a delightful lunch spread. Sandwiches, chips, drinks, and cookies adorned the tables as a small token to thank our staff for their work.

Thank you to the following parents who took the time and effort to ensure that our teachers and staff felt valued and cherished.

Kaylyn Warren
Brianna Hewson
Miriam Torres

Once again, thank you to all the parents who contributed to this delightful lunch. Your generosity and thoughtfulness have made this week extra special for our staff, and we are truly grateful.
