We celebrated yesterday with an Intro to Embroidery class taught by Darci Hanna. So wonderful to slow down, connect, stitch, and laugh together 🪡

Early Elementary Art Intensive (entering 1st-3rd grades)

Join us for three mornings of creative, messy, exploratory, and fun fiber focused art! We’ll try different techniques, learn new things, and gain new skills while working with different kinds of fibers - fabric, yarn, and more. Process art (focused on the process of creating, and exploring materials and techniques, rather than on the finished product) is the foundation for all of our work at the Backyartists Art Studio. Please bring a peanut and nut free snack to eat and a water bottle. Class enrollment is limited to 8 children. Each class is two hours in length.

Our first week of summer classes is ocean themed. Children and their caregivers had a swimmingly good time exploring materials, greeting old friends, and meeting new ones. We still have spaces left for many of our classes. Sign up today and keep your little one learning and growing this summer!

We were inspired by one of our activities Sun and Sea Summit to create these adorable succulent gardens for our last class of Afternoon Art Explorers (K-2nd grade) this session. They decorated the pots with acrylic markers, added dirt and succulents, and then decorated with little pebbles, animals, and mushrooms. So cute!

We love when our Backyartists kids know what’s up

Today, while singing “Hurry, Hurry Drive the Firetruck”

Teacher: okay, we saved the people and the pets. What else should we save? (Kids usually suggest toys or stuffies next.)

Child: our country!

So we did it. We sang “Hurry, hurry, save our country.” 🥰🤪😂❤️🇺🇸
