This is a page is dedicated to the memories of the Krewe of Birney, a Metairie elementary school's salute to Carnival.

The Krewe of Birney ran from the late 1970's until the late 1990's. The Krewe hosted an annual Carnival ball and parade by the students of Alice Birney Elementary, under the production by Mrs. Kay Caruso, a teacher and later librarian of the school. There were several themes that the ball celebrated including Walt Disney, Holidays, and the USA. Costumes were created by the parents and school volun
