Thank you Martina Bex for another wonderful resource. In exciting local news, DC city council moves to rename Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples' Day!
October 12 is El Día de la Raza in many countries; a day to celebrate the cultural diversity 👩🏾👦🏻👦🏽👦🏿👩🏽 that is «la Raza».
October 12, 1492 marked the beginning of contact between the Americas & Europe. The US 🇺🇲commemorates this event on the second Monday in October as Columbus Day. Other countries choose to commemorate the same event from a different perspective: one that honors ALL the experiences of ALL peoples that have been influenced through the trajectory of this important historical event 😄😔😡.
Share a new perspective with your students this week with an easy-to-understand reading in Spanish, available as a printable PDF 📇with glyph from our store on TpT (link in bio).
