Happy Pentecost everyone! Today one of our former pre-k4 students and her younger brother received the sacrament of baptism. What a wonderful way to celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit! Congratulations Harmony and Haxton, and welcome to the Church!

It has been one week since we said our goodbyes to our beloved SMM school. Here are a few shots of our teachers and students on our last day at SMM. 💛🐾❤️

Also today, we held our annual 1st-6th grade talent show! Acts ranged from dancing to magic tricks to singing to karate and more! We are so proud of the many talented students we have here at SMM! Great work everyone!

Our final field day as an SMM school community was a huge success! Students were broken into teams and competed against one another for points for their color. The red team came out victorious! Congratulations cougars! 💛🐾❤️

Tomorrow our 1st-6th graders will have their field day and talent show! Parents are invited to join us in the cafeteria for our talent show at 2:00pm. We have a great variety of acts, and the show will last about 40 minutes. We hope to see you there!

Over the course of the last week, the 5th and 6th grade girls took part in the Endow “Defining Dignity” book study. This curriculum is designed to help girls come to understand their feminine genius and God-given dignity through studying the writings of Pope St. John Paul II. The girls met for one hour each afternoon for five days. Miss Dufresne led the course, and young women from The CCRNO - Catholic Charismatic Renewal of New Orleans youth group, who are recent graduates from Chapelle high school, help lead the small groups and activities.

Congratulations to the kindergarten class of 2022! We are so proud of you and all your hard work this year!

The end of year celebrations continue with this morning’s pre-kindergarten closing ceremony!

Today we celebrated the graduation of the SMM class of 2022! Fr. Chris presided their mass and the presentation of awards and diplomas followed. After the ceremony, the graduates held a balloon release in the school courtyard. Congratulations class of 2022!

Today was a very heartfelt and emotional day on the SMM campus as we celebrated our final “Passing of the Flame” ceremony. After mass, each home room teacher came forward to “pass on” the light of Christ to a representative of each grade level. The students in-turn will carry the light of Christ as they continue on to their new schools next year. Everyone was reminded to keep our motto “All for Jesus” close to their hearts as each student was inducted as an alumni of SMM. Students were also each given a bag containing a St. Mary Magdalen medal, an SMM sticker, a prayer card, bracelet, and paw print key chain as a way to remember our beloved school as we journey to the future. Finally, Mrs. Levy presented Fr. Chris, Ms. Hebert, and Dr. Speeg with canvases created using the thumbprints of every SMM student. This day will certainly be one we hold close to our hearts for years to come! ❤️🐾💛
