Life's Little Swimmers Infant Aquatics

Life's Little Swimmers Infant Aquatics I'm thrilled to have the privilege of teaching them this life skill! We form special relationships with both our students and their parents.

Children are precious gifts, and true survival swim lessons protect them from the greatest harm they could encounter, since drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4. I am a survival swim instructor with over 160 hours of in-water training and education in child development and behavior. Combining years of experience and educational background with the physics of swimming, I tai

lor and conduct the safest and most comprehensive baby swimming lesson possible for your child. As an energetic, creative professional who loves being in the water, I am dedicated to teaching your child the survival swimming skills needed to enjoy the water safely. At Infant Aquatics, we take pride our expertise in working with infants and small children and believe that we are saving lives, one child at a time. Watching your child discover the joy of swimming is truly the most rewarding experience for us all.

“My child can swim.”

As a survival swim instructor, I hear this often.

Then I watch the child:
• Swimming vertically with their head out of the water
• Treading water
• Dog paddling
• Wearing floaties or a puddle jumper

There is a big difference between looking like you’re swimming and actually knowing how to swim.

Those are water skills, but they are not the same as true water competency.

Swimming isn’t simply moving through the water. It’s having the skills to do so efficiently, confidently, and safely.

A child who can truly swim should be able to:
• Swim horizontally with control
• Manage their breathing
• Float and recover if they become tired
• Change direction intentionally
• Reach the wall or another safe exit

In an emergency, the difference matters.

As parents, we should ask a different question.

Instead of asking, “Can my child swim?”

Ask, “Does my child have the skills to survive if they unexpectedly end up in the water?”

Those are two very different things.

As a survival swim instructor, my goal isn’t just to teach children to swim. It’s to help teach them the skills that could save their lives.

Today marks the beginning of Drowning Impact Awareness Month.

For many, drowning is a statistic. For families like C**t’s, it’s a lifelong reality.

Every year, lives are changed in an instant by a tragedy that is often silent, fast, and preventable. This month, we honor every child and family impacted by drowning by turning grief into action.

Throughout August, we’ll be sharing life-saving information about:
-Pool barriers and four-sided mesh pool fences
-Survival swim lessons
-Active adult supervision
-Water competency
-Layers of protection that save lives

C**t was just 2 years old when he drowned after accessing an unfenced backyard pool. His story reminds us why prevention matters and why one layer of protection is never enough.

If even one family chooses to install a pool fence, enroll their child in survival swim lessons, or change the way they supervise around water because of what they learn this month, then these conversations are worth having.

Join us this August as we work together to prevent drowning and protect children💜
