Here are just a few highlights from today’s Pre-K through 4th grade awards assemblies at Thompson Elementary 🎓 We loved celebrating our students and recognizing the many ways they continue to engage, empower, and excel both inside and outside the classroom. We were especially excited to welcome the seniors from Dr. John D. Horn High School as they completed their special walk through our hallways. Congratulations to all of our amazing students for their hard work, growth, and accomplishments this year!

☀️ Reminder: Thursday, May 28, is the last day of school and an early release day for all campuses! As we wrap up another great school year, please make plans for students to be picked up at their early release time.

As we wrap up the school year, we want to ensure our students stay connected! Student Chromebooks will be sent home for the summer. To help you manage these devices over the break, please review the important details below:

Accidents happen, but you can still protect your student's device! Families can pay a $20 insurance fee to cover any accidental summer damage.

Our teachers were treated like the stars of the Wild West during Teacher Appreciation Week at Thompson Elementary, so we wanted to make sure to circle back and give a special thank you to the businesses and individuals who helped make that happen! A huge thank you to the amazing businesses, individuals, and parents who donated delicious meals, fun prizes, and sweet donuts to make our staff feel so loved and appreciated. The kindness and generosity shown throughout the week made such an impact that our teachers are still talking about how special it was!

Today was an unforgettable Play Day at Thompson filled with nonstop laughter, teamwork, and school spirit ☀️🐯Students raced their hearts out through competitive relays, tug-of-war battles, three-legged races, water challenges, and bounced into even more fun with a bounce house obstacle course. From friendly competition to huge smiles all around, it was the perfect day to celebrate fun, friendship, and making memories together!

Our Men of Valor boys group continues to engage in meaningful activities that build confidence, character, and leadership on campus. From learning chess to sharpen strategy and think ahead to practicing how to tie a tie and deliver a firm handshake, these young men are gaining life skills that empower them for the future. We are proud to watch them grow, lead, and excel each day! ♟️🤝

Mesquite ISD Career & Technical Education

Yesterday at Thompson, we spent the day celebrating the power of showing up as we honored our students with perfect attendance and outstanding class attendance achievements 💯 Students who demonstrated perfect attendance all year enjoyed a special pancake breakfast in the morning, while our fourth nine weeks perfect attendance students celebrated in the afternoon with popsicles on the playground, creating fun opportunities to engage, empower, and inspire one another to excel. We also recognized our two classes with over 96% attendance for the year with a well-deserved pizza party — proof that commitment, consistency, and teamwork lead to success!

Today on National Speech-Language Pathologist Day, we proudly celebrate Ms. Davison for coloring the world with communication and helping our students engage with confidence every day. Through her compassion, expertise, and dedication, she empowers students to find their voices, build meaningful connections, and continue to grow. Thank you, Ms. Davidson, for inspiring our learners to excel in communication and in life!
