Terry Dorsey Has Passed Away...

"It comes with deep sadness that I have to report the passing of my longtime friend and cherished colleague, Terry Dorsey. Terry retired from KSCS in December and had hoped to live out his retirement on a farm in Illinois. Last night, I received a call from his family that Terry had passed away peacefully at home."

'Her legacy was love' Life Celebration planned for the beloved late Susan Miller
A "Life Celebration" to honor a legendary teacher in Wilson County is scheduled for Sunday in Lebanon so that the thousands of people she touched in her 25 years of teaching in Wilson County can come and celebrate her life.
Susan Miller, a teacher for a total of 38 years, was tragically killed in an automobile accident on July 16. Her daughter Sara Arn and Miller's son survived the terrible accident.
Sara and her brother grew up in Mt. Juliet and are both graduates of Mt. Juliet High School. Miller and Sara relocated to Arizona last year and went to visit Sara's brother in July.
"We had a wonderful time together and the accident happened toward the end of the trip," said Sara.
Tragically Sara's grandfather passed away three weeks later, unrelated to the accident.
It has been a very trying time for Sara and her family. She said the outpouring of support from Wilson County was amazing and helped them deal with the loss of her mother.
"We've been very touched by the kindness and support that mom's friends and former students in Wilson County have shown," she said. "We wanted to give everyone an opportunity to gather and remember the positive ways she made a difference, so we are holding a Life Celebration for mom on Sunday."
It will be held at Legacy Farms in Lebanon from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers people are urged to consider making a donation or volunteering time in Miller's honor to provide food and shelter to those in need. Two of Miller's favorites were Habitat for Humanity and Joseph's Storehouse in Wilson County.
"We believe the best way to honor mom is through random acts of kindness toward others which is something we can all do in our daily lives."
Miller taught for many years at Rutland as part of her long tenure in Wilson County. She also was a SEEK teacher, which enabled her to touch even more students.
"I can honestly say I've never met anyone as selfless as Susan," said former Rutland principal Yvonne Kittrell. "Her legacy was love. She had positive energy and ignited a room. I never saw her lose her spark and energy. She loved the Lord, He was first in her life."
