My mom finished reading Charlotte’s Web to my class today. This is the third year of doing this, and I have to say that this year has been the best so far. We were all in tears at the end.

Today we used our inferencing skills. First we looked at each individual clue and thought about what it meant. Then we looked at ALL the clues together to solve the case of the missing Xorbee.
Inferencing is a tough skill that we will practice throughout the entire year. We now have a fun activity to connect our learning to and to refer to every time we talk about logical inferencing!

I made a few edits before posting this- some spelling & punctuation- but even without those changes, THIS is powerful writing. His classmate's jaws dropped once he was done sharing (mine did too). A slow clap began. And suddenly the writer was unleashed within him. Worm- the trigger word, worm unlocked this magic. I wish you could have been there.

Congrats to these two friends who won the Reading Winter Challenge raffle. Our class had almost 15 kiddos participate in the challenge. Learning never stops 📚 .
