Our first-year students recently visited Tempe Post Acute, where they offered hearing and cognitive screenings to residents as part of their growing clinical experiences. π
It was a meaningful opportunity to connect with the community, practice hands-on skills, and continue learning the importance of compassionate, patient-centered care.
We are so proud of the professionalism, kindness, and dedication our students continue to show in every experience! β¨

ATSU-SLP WRAPPED: 2nd Years Edition β¨
Our Class of 2026 has officially wrapped another powerhouse semester, and they continue to set the standard.
In three semesters, they have completed:
β’ 32 courses
β’ Advanced clinical simulations and evaluations
β’ Thousands of minutes in clinical practice
β’ A full transition into their advanced practicum rotations
They now stand at 75% SLPs, confidently stepping into the final stretch. Only 20 more weeks remain in their graduate journey. 2 advanced practicums, 1 final course and the Culminating Event Presentation, separate them from becoming 100% speech-language pathologists.
This fall they continued to grow, refine their clinical reasoning, strengthen their assessment and intervention skills, and fully embrace the role of advanced clinicians. FEED, MBS scoring, bedside swallow evaluations, speech-language-cognitive assessments, and report writing have now become part of their everyday language and workflow.
With more than 24,000 minutes logged in clinical settings (CALIPSO is already preparing for spring), our second years have shown dedication, professionalism, and heart in every setting they enter.
Here is to the Class of 2026 as they step into their final sessions. You are almost at the finish line, and we are incredibly proud of you.
