If you're considering a career in aviation, you'll need to understand your options to get to the airlines.
Most students are surprised by how structured the path actually is. You earn your commercial certificate, start building hours, and work toward the 1,500 required to fly for a major carrier.
The question most people have at that stage is where to build the hours.
Pipeline and survey flying are options, but instructing can be a way to open the more doors down the line. A CFI, a CFI-I, and for some an MEI, give you credentials that future employers recognize.
On top of that, the experience of teaching keeps you deeply connected to the fundamentals in a way that other hour-building jobs often don't.
When it comes to type ratings, airline interviews, or checkrides, staying in the training environment helps pilots to show up better prepared.
The path isn't easy, but it has a clear destination and a lot of good company along the way.
