Thorsday: A Day in the Life of Thor the Thunderbird Thor wakes up for his morning online class, only to realize what day it is. But when he gets to campus, will his friends remember that it’s Thorsday?

The Mesa College Promise program has welcomed its fourth and largest group of students to receive two years of fully funded tuition and fees at MCC. The program includes the inaugural group of Mesa residents who are 24 years or older.

MCC Dental Hygiene students are offering free dental screenings to eligible individuals on Sept. 7 at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa. The Mesa College Promise program welcomes 320 new Thunderbirds for the 2024-2025 school year! This cohort is our largest cohort yet, with 263 recent high school graduates and 57 returning adult learners. The welcome celebration and reception included an address by City of Mesa, Arizona Government Mayor John Giles and remarks from members of our Thunderbird Leadership team, Dr. Indra Peláez and Christos Chronis.

“A tradition at MCC is bestowing academic achievement awards to the top five students in the program,” said MCC Paramedicine Program Director Michael Pennington. "The ‘Top Gun’ award is given to a student who exemplifies outstanding leadership qualities and is chosen by their peers as someone who represents their class effectively."
