Congratulations to 5th graders, Hannah Koerner and Reyna Ro, for tying for 1st place at MPS regionals and making it into the district's final Battle of the Book competition! The girls did an amazing job by only missing one question at the finals. We are so proud of all their hard work and courage to compete in the reading competition!

What an amazing Spring Carnival at our school!

A HUGE thank you to all our families who helped make the carnival happen!

Westwood High School football and cheerleaders volunteered their time working our carnival games and face painting.

The Mesa Fire Department brought their fire truck and our Mesa's own Mayor Freeman arrived on his tractor to greet families and gave students the chance to climb up and enjoy a one-of-a-kind moment they will not forget!

We are so lucky to have a community that shows up for our students in such big ways.

Your ECA Tax Donations continue to help support our program by providing money for every grade level to have one field trip a year. This week, our 2nd and 6th graders headed to the Arizona Science Fair for a day of learning and fun for their annual field trip!

If you haven't filed your 2025 taxes, there's still time to contribute to our general ECA fund. Just go to mpsaz.org, click on donate and select your funds to go to Franklin Accelerated Academy- Downtown campus. Thank you for your support!

On Friday, 2/13, we took the morning to continue our tradition of honoring our Presidents for Presidents' Day with a flag raising ceremony and assembly. Our student council students dressed as Abraham Lincoln and performed a skit in front of their peers about his many accomplishments. In addtion to student council, our 5th graders sang a song with all the president's names under the direction of our music teacher Ms. Dixon, and our 6th graders recited the Gettysburg Address from memory. Enjoy our amazing 5th graders performing their presidents song!
