Career & Technical Education for the Phoenix Area

The East Valley Institute of Technology is one of the best resources Arizona's students have to guarantee themselves success. Upheld as a model for career and technical education by the U.S. Department of Education, EVIT provides students with the advanced skills and training needed to thrive in today's competitive job market. EVIT adds to a stude

nt's academic instruction with hands-on learning provided by experienced professionals and excellent resources. By allowing students to earn elective credit in more than 40 occupation-specific programs, EVIT enhances the future of every type of student. EVIT programs are tuition-free to high school students who live in 11 East Valley school districts – Mesa, Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, Tempe, Apache Junction, Cave Creek, Chandler, Gilbert, Higley, Queen Creek, and J.O. These students, including charter school and home-schooled students, spend half their day at EVIT and the other half at their sending high school or home school. EVIT also offers classes for adults, allowing them to benefit from quality education with low tuition rates and a variety of financial aid and interest-free payment options. One student at a time, EVIT is fulfilling its mission of providing a productive, technically trained workforce to meet the market-driven needs of business and industry. EVIT is also meeting the needs of families faced with the ever-increasing cost of a college education. Two out of three EVIT students go on to higher education, many of them using their EVIT training to secure employment to help pay their college tuition. Don’t wait another day to reach for your career and college goals! Join us for a campus tour or contact us for additional information.

Today in lab, the 1st year Vet Assistant students put an important veterinary skill into practice: properly completing SOAP notes!

SOAP notes are an essential part of a patient's medical record and provide a clear, organized way to document a patient's subjective information, objective findings, assessment, and plan.

Accurate medical records help ensure continuity of care, allow the veterinary team to communicate effectively, document the patient's history and treatment, and provide a legal record of the care that was provided.

Today's lab gave our students the opportunity to practice documenting patient information accurately and professionally, because in veterinary medicine, good patient care starts with good communication and good records!
