East Valley parents -- We have a great event coming up next Saturday, March 26 at the EVIT Main Campus: the first East Valley High School Automotive Skills Challenge. If you have a son or daughter interested in the automotive industry, you definitely should stop by. Automotive students from EVIT and East Valley high schools will compete for over $5,500 in prizes donated by Valley dealerships and automotive businesses. The event will also have a Pinewood Derby race with over 100 mini cars built by students, a car and truck show, and the TechForce Foundation's Mobile STEM Career Center. Students in David Lane's Automotive class at Mesa High School in Mesa Public Schools recently used their skills to put together bikes that will be given to Mesa children. Mr. Lane is also a member of the CTED Governing Board.
