It is okay to give your kids some responsibility, especially when it is their mess to clean up. Every member should have a set of responsibilities and be encouraged to complete them with a positive attitude. After all, you are all part of the same family sharing the same roof over your head. Having trouble convincing them chores can be fun? Give them a choice...

Children love to have choices and feel like they have some control. Always give them 2 choices (both of which you are okay with them choosing) and let them make the decision.
This week's enforceable statement:
"Do you want to leave now or in 5 minutes?"
How do you feel about making your child take turns? Is it fair to make them share before they are done playing with a toy? How would you feel if someone commanded you to hand over your phone, etc. immediately before your game was over just because someone else wanted it?
We still want to teach our children to share. It may be helpful to preface playtime by laying out simple guidelines to teach them to share while respecting their imagination and playtime as well.
This weeks enforceable statement:
"You may play with that toy as long as you take turns."
