9/11: I was facilitating a Marriott sales class in Washington DC with Sandy Lundberg Mireille Morgan Cottle Beth Berry and we were entrusted with about 30 participants who looked to us to stay calm and come up with options. We had some of the class wanting to go to church to pray, some wanted to go donate blood, some wanted to rent cars and drive home to the west coast and drop other classmates off along the way, and some that wanted to go get a drink. Yes I volunteered to go get a drink. We came out to military tanks rolling past us. It was sobering and surreal. Every day for about 5 days Iād go to the airport and be turned away and told to try again the next day. I finally got home to Salt Lake City and was forever changed. I will forever be grateful for our united collaborative approach as leaders in guiding those souls in a calm and organized way. Alone we may have fallen apart but together we knew what we needed to do.
