Silk Banners by Dorothea

I was able to finish 3 banners for the kingdom they were presented last night at court. I have many more to make if you want to learn the silk studio will be open on Sunday mid morning please RSVP so I know how many to plan for. This is one of the banners.

What a great day to be in the silk room.

Yesterday it was nice to get back into the silk room for awhile. I was able to get the gutta done on one banner and while it was drying I managed to get another frame together and silk on it.

Day 2 of silk banner class taught by Dorothea Mqueyn at Estrella war 32 2016. This is the day the banners come to life with the color.

Day one of silk banner class at Estrella war 32. This year we had 6 students, which 2 of them have taken my class 3 times so they worked together along with my help for the long 15x60 banner for a special banner for the known world choir.

Well last night I was able to get all of the gutta on my 35x 35 inch silk. :) now to start thinking of colors. I have a few set colors the rest we will see. Time to play.

Life is starting to get under control and I'm back to teaching silk.:) I also have a project underway....it is a 35 x 35 stain glass look silk that I have wanted to do for a while. I have about half of the pattern traced onto the silk. I drew it first on a master paper of 35x35 paper. Easier to change on paper than the silk.
