Those interested in gaining their AWS (American Welding Society) certification can now complete their testing here at EVIT! Testing is open to anyone who is interested. The EVIT Welding Department is a third party Accredited Testing Facility (ATF) conducting welder qualification for the American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welder Program using a Certified Welding Inspector. We offer a variety
of certifications in most hand welding processes and alloys including AWS D1.1 and pipe. Please call for more specific information. General hours are weekdays 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Evenings Monday thru Thursday can be available for testing. Saturdays can be made available if needed but are reserved for multiple evaluations from companies. “Emergency” testing may also be scheduled for an additional cost on Saturdays. Optional Welder training, bend testing, etc. is available upon request. An option to apply for nationally recognized AWS Certified Welder Program is available. A minimum of 48 hours prior to testing time is required for registration, and a minimum of 24 hours prior to testing must be given to cancel a test. Test Details:
A photo ID (such as drivers license) is to be presented by the applicant at the same time of testing. Certifications have specific time limits. Tests must be completed the day they are started within the allotted time. A retest can be no sooner than the following day. The cost for the testing is the same amount that the applicant paid for the original test. If a third test is necessary, the time frame will be determined by the applicant and the CWI. Tests include 1 coupon for each position, 2 specimens per coupon. Material is provided here and welded here unless previously approved by CWI.
