WE LOVE A GOOD STORY!

There’s something incredibly fun about a teacher opening a book and saying, “Let’s read…”

Suddenly, our classrooms become castles, forests, kitchens, oceans, and worlds we’ve never imagined.

Our students listen, laugh, wonder, ask questions, make connections, and then CREATE!

A story might lead to an art project, a STEM challenge, a writing adventure, a cooking activity, a dramatic reenactment, or a hands-on project that makes the story unforgettable.

And yes, even our older students benefit from being read to! Across K–8, read-alouds strengthen:

Rooted in Excellence and Truth

One of the ways we live out our motto on campus is by building friendships and relationships across grade levels. When we are rooted in Christ, He becomes the bond that connects us across ages, classrooms, and experiences.

That’s why we intentionally create opportunities for our younger and older students to connect through reading, mentoring, crafts, shared projects, activities, encouragement, and so many other meaningful experiences.

Our older students have opportunities to lead, serve, encourage, and pour into others, while our younger students gain mentors and friends who encourage them to grow.

These relationships are about more than just fun moments on campus. They are opportunities to practice kindness, service, leadership, and excellence while building friendships centered on Christ.

This is what it looks like to be Rooted in Excellence and Truth.

🍎✨ Teacher for the Day is back! ✨🍎

Our students in Grades 5-7 are kicking off this year’s Teacher for the Day experience, and we couldn’t be more excited! We have a phenomenal group of young people who will be stepping into the classroom and leading classes throughout the year.

This experience is about so much more than simply putting themselves in the role of a leader. It teaches students the importance of organization, preparation, communication, responsibility, flexibility, and confidence. They quickly discover that being a teacher requires planning ahead, thinking on your feet, and sometimes adjusting when things don’t go quite as planned!

And those unexpected moments? They’re some of the best learning opportunities. Through Teacher for the Day, our students gain valuable life lessons about problem-solving, patience, perseverance, teamwork, and adapting to challenges.

We can’t wait to watch these amazing young leaders step up, learn, grow, and shine! 🌟

Our sweet students are having so much fun building their biome dioramas!

They brought their creativity, science knowledge, and imaginations together to create miniature worlds that represent the unique plants, animals, and environments they’ve been learning about.

We’re only two weeks into the school year, and we’ve already had a rabbit, jumping spiders, a frog, and baby chicks make their way onto campus!

We had a wonderful time at our Meet the Teacher event earlier this week! It was a blessing to welcome our families, meet new faces, reconnect with returning families, and begin building our school community for the year ahead.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so special. Seeing students excited to meet their teachers, explore their classrooms, and connect with friends reminded us how truly special this community is.

We are grateful to each family that is part of Canyon Heights Christian Academy and look forward to all that God has planned for this school year. Here's to a year rooted in faith, friendship, and learning! 💙
