Meet our lovely RBT, Kat! Kat has been working with us since this July and has been an amazing addition to our team.

🎉Kat’s favorite part of ABA is celebrating little wins every day and knowing she’s making a positive difference in the kiddos’ lives. Her favorite thing about working at Blue Cactus is being able to bond with kiddos and getting to know her coworkers that make her excited to come to work.

🎮When she is not teaching new skills and getting to know kiddos, she loves playing Minecraft, Pokémon, and other video games.

🌵At BCA, we teach new skills through several strategies. One of them being errorless teaching. Errorless teaching is when we give learners the answer right away, so they can practice engaging in the correct response right off the bat. There are a few reasons we use this teaching...

📉 Less Failure & More Rewards: This approach alters instructional practices so learning results in less failure (that often leads to frustration) and far more frequent reinforcement (or rewards).

🤝 Demand = Opportunity: Removing the frustration improves the teaching situation to the point where it stops functioning as a stressful demand and becomes a positive opportunity for the learner.

🛑 Less Escape Behaviors: Errors actually increase the urge to escape. Reducing errors functions can lower the value of task avoidance and significantly decrease escape-motivated behaviors.

A little sneak peak at our new center! We have officially moved in and are settling in to this amazing new space! We are ecstatic to be growing and creating new moments and learning opportunities!

We are excited to announce that will be moving here shortly to a larger center! Our new location will still be located in Mesa and more information will be available soon.

We are looking forward to setting up our new space with new ways for our kiddos to play and learn. With trampolines, a giant ball pit, climbing structures, individual rooms for better focus, and a classroom-like space to practice social and school readiness skills, our learners will have ample space to grow!
