Kerri Glover Earns Teacher Award
Recently three of Gilbert Public Schools’ finest were recognized at the 2015 Gilbert Community Excellence Awards including Kerri Glover from Desert Ridge High School. Kerri was presented the Educator Award during the ceremony. Kerri Glover has devoted more than 20 years to Gilbert Public Schools. First, at Gilbert Junior High, where her teaching of Language Arts, Reading and Drama inspired the annual Renaissance Fair. She then moved to Highland High School to help establish a large and very successful theatre program. On the heels of that program, Kerri Glover helped open Desert Ridge Junior High and establish yet another very successful drama program. Now, Mrs. Glover is the Language Arts department chair at Desert Ridge High School. Mrs. Glover takes the time to know everything about her students and makes sure they are challenging themselves. She has directed numerous shows and led various clubs such as National Honor Society and Speech & Debate. She writes curriculum, helps refine district exams and has served on numerous district and school committees. Mrs. Glover is selfless, caring and insightful and cares deeply about her students, colleagues and her family. She also cares about her community. She's been involved in advocating for our public schools for many years, travelling to the capitol, utilizing social media, knocking on doors, making phone calls and working on campaigns that support our local school district and our students.
Gilbert is fortunate to have such a devoted, dedicated citizen who inspires students and colleagues to achieve their very best.
