Lara Cox, NBCT, is in her 20th year teaching physical education in Arizona, currently teaching K–6 students at Faith Mather Sossaman Elementary in the Queen Creek Unified School District. Her program focuses on building positive, inclusive learning environments through purposeful movement.

Beyond the Game: Building Community Through Cooperative Play & Reflection

Cooperative games are far more than fun icebreakers; they are the foundation for building an inclusive, emotionally safe, and connected culture from day one and throughout the school year. In this session, participants will engage in a variety of low-prep cooperative activities and discuss actionable strategies to foster a positive, supportive environment for all students. Leave with ready-to-use games, reflection prompts, and management tips to empower every learner from day one.

Tim Warnock M.ed is a 35 year veteran physical education teacher, coach, athletic director league president, national speaker, C-PTSD survivor and Student mental health advocate. Tim was a member of NBC12 Arizona’s Cactus Coalition and advocated with a wide coalition of parents to pass su***de prevention legislation equipping school personnel with knowledge and guidance to appropriately identify and connect struggling students with supportive resources.

Behavior Management for developing self-regulation, resilience and relationships: is designed to share his experience and techniques for helping a generation in crisis. After leaving this presentation you will have nuanced and informed view of behavior management systems. A deeper understanding what is behind many of the most challenging misbehaviors educators are facing in today’s classroom. Along with techniques to connect kids to physical active lifestyles as a means to regulate their emotions and build a neurological system wired for resilience and autonomy.
