Second graders who met their AR goal enjoyed ice cream with friends in our Coyote Classroom! Accelerated Reader (AR) is an educational program used to monitor and encourage students’ independent reading practice and reading comprehension. Way to go, Coyotes! 🍦

The Arizona Coyotes Hockey Organization hosted our two 6th grade STEM classes for a field trip to learn about all hockey 🏒 related things: friction, angles, math, etc. and one station was even taught by a former Las Sendas Coyote himself! The kids had a great time and were treated to pizza for lunch paid for by the field trip hosts.

Learning in full force! 16 days of school left… and we are still working hard! Mrs. DeBriyn’s 5th grade accelerated STEM class is learning all about how the body works by making body cutouts!
Did you catch Channel 12 news this week? We were featured on the news for our unique strings program! All Las Sendas students begin learning the violin in 2nd grade! This is something that makes our school stand out as it develops children with a multi-sensory approach. Mrs. Zima‘s second graders enjoyed a “royal breakfast” to celebrate their literature study of The BFG by Roald Dahl.
Mrs. DeBord’s & Mrs. Arviso’s third graders got their turn to visit S’edav Va’aki Museum today. From ancient artifacts to interactive displays, every corner holds a new surprise! Students even made their own petroglyphs!
Mrs. Lazier’s & Mrs. Silva’s third graders got to visit S’edav Va’aki Museum today. Students learned about the Ancient Sonoran Desert People, canal system they created, the artifacts left behind, ancient petrogyphs, hiked to the top of a platform mound that was once a system of ceremonial rooms.
Our CIOs in our STEM program are working hard to get ready for the High School Showcase on Wednesday! Our full school one will be be in May so look for information to come!

Making waves of memories on our second grade field trip to the OdySea Aquarium! 🐠🌊
Habitats! Students in our 4th grade STEM classes were introduced to Habitats and what is needed: food, water, air, shelter and space with a lesson from Mrs. Smith to study 21 habitats and animals to see if the mini habitats were appropriate or not. They will take their knowledge to the zoo Thursday to begin to apply it to real animals before beginning their next showcase project.

Second graders made a trip to the park for a picnic and some fun in the sun for their AR party! ☀️🧺AR stands for Accelerated Reader. Students read a book at their reading level and take a comprehension test for points. 📚 Way to go second graders!
🎉 What a fantastic Primary Play Day we had at Las Sendas! 🎈
Our little ones had an absolute blast exploring eight exciting stations filled with fun activities like sack races, target throw, beanbag toss, and water relay races! 🏃♂️💦 It was heartwarming to see the children's laughter and enthusiasm as they engaged in these playful challenges.
We were thrilled to have our wonderful families, parents, and guardians join us for this special event. Your support and presence made the day even more memorable! 👨👩👧👦💖
A huge shoutout to Mr. Cuocci and Mrs. McConnell for organizing such a fantastic day filled with joy and laughter.
