Red Mountain High School

We are incredibly proud of junior Daniel Kaufman, who represented Red Mountain High School at the National Academic Decathlon last week!

Competing against top students from across the country and around the world, Daniel earned gold in the Science category and silver in the Math category!

This experience reflects the hard work our students have put in all year, along with the support of our dedicated staff and families.

Every summer the Helios Scholars at TGen offers an eight-week summer internship program in biomedical research. Interns work full-time on a research project under the mentorship of a TGen scientist. Interns participate at TGen headquarters to unravel the genetic components of diabetes, neurological disease and cancer.

Red Mountain's very own Kathryn Weatherly was chosen as 1 out of 20 students from across Arizona to be an intern this summer in this prestigious program. We are so proud of her and know that she do amazing work! Kudos to the BioMed program for preparing our students to be successful in the medical field.

Seniors! Come to the Hiring and Networking Event at Mountain View High on April 28th to meet employers.

Juniors who have an internship next year are required to attend the Mandatory Internship Orientation for students and parents that night, also at Mountain View High.

Seniors! Are you headed to a community college, 4-year university, or tech/trade school after Red Mountain? If so, come to our College Commitment Celebration during 4th period on Wednesday, April 29th! Wear your college gear if you have it. You’ll report to 4th period for attendance and then immediately go to the small gym. You’ll listen to great music, enter prize drawings, eat great snacks, and sign college banners.

Over 50 welding juniors and seniors had the opportunity to attend an engaging presentation by Dallas Miller from the Arizona Pipe Trades Union. Students learned about apprenticeship programs and asked thoughtful questions throughout the session. This experience provided valuable insight into future career pathways and helped students explore opportunities in the skilled trades.

Congratulations to Engineering students on their performance at the ASU EPICS Showcase last week! Cosette Sampson and Kevin Li won the Advanced Manufacturing Award, and Claire McNamee, Braxton Kim, and Shiv Patel won the Systems Integration Award.

A big thank you to Discount Tire, CORE Construction, and the Army National Guard for visiting Red Mountain High School to support our students in developing their interview skills. Juniors and seniors had the opportunity to participate in mock interviews and receive valuable, real-time feedback from industry professionals. Experiences like this give students meaningful exposure to real-world expectations and help build confidence as they prepare for internship interviews and future careers.
