We’re excited to announce a new chapter for Chords & Keys: the launch of Chords & Keys Press.
From the beginning, we have believed that music and the arts can accomplish something much bigger than teaching a child to play an instrument, sing a song, or perform on a stage. They can help young people develop confidence, resilience, discipline, commitment, creativity, and the ability to work through challenges.
Now, we’re taking those ideas beyond our studio.
Chords & Keys Press was created to publish thoughtful, practical resources for parents, educators, students, and anyone interested in the connection between the arts, learning, personal development, and lifelong growth.
We’re proud to begin with our first two publications:
Music and the Brain: A Guide to Healthy Listening explores how we experience sound, how listening habits can affect us, and how we can build a healthier relationship with the music and audio that surround us every day.
More Than Music: How Parents Can Raise Confident, Resilient Kids Through Music and the Arts takes a deeper look at the philosophy at the heart of Chords & Keys. It explores how experiences such as practicing, performing, making mistakes, persevering through frustration, and steadily improving can help children develop skills that extend far beyond music and the stage.
For us, publishing is a natural extension of teaching.
Our instructors may work with students one lesson at a time, but the ideas behind what we do have much broader applications. Chords & Keys Press gives us another way to contribute to the conversation about arts education and to share what we are learning with families and educators beyond our local community.
We’re incredibly proud to see the Chords & Keys name on our first two books, and even more excited about where Chords & Keys Press can go from here.
Two books. One philosophy.
Music is the tool. Growth is the goal.
Welcome to Chords & Keys Press.
