Get Connected With Your School’s Parent Group!

As we start thinking about back to school, I’d like to share a little information about each building’s Parent Teacher/Faculty organization.

PTO means Parent Teacher Organization
PTA/PFA means Parent Teacher/Faculty Association

These volunteer groups help with things like:

✅ School events and family activities
✅ Fundraising
✅ Student enrichment
✅ Teacher and staff appreciation
✅ Classroom and school needs
✅ Volunteer opportunities
✅ Building school community

Having personally spent a few years volunteering on the JMUES PFA board, I’ve seen firsthand the amount of work and love that goes into the work these groups do in our schools. 💙

They’re also a great way to get involved, meet other families, and feel more connected to your student’s school.

I’ll be sharing each group’s page and contact information separately so families can easily connect with their school’s organization. A list of the groups can also be found on the Merrimack School District website below under Families/Parent Organizations. https://www.sau26.org/parents

🚨 EMAIL SPAM ALERT 🚨

Please DO NOT open the email from Virginia Day sent today, 8/17 at approximately 3:46 PM. This email is spam and was not sent out by Ms. Day.

The district IT department is aware of the issue.

Email scams can take many forms, but one helpful rule of thumb is this: district employees will not email families offering free gift cards, no matter how much they appreciate you or your student. 😊

There was an issue with a coordinator email account, and it inadvertently sent out invitations to an event, and a DoorDash attachment. The I.T. department is working on this issue, but please disregard any email from Colleen Blanchard, sent on August 12, 2026.
