Dear JMUES Families,

We hope you are soaking up every bit of summer—whether that means swimming, reading in the shade, playing with friends, traveling or enjoying an extra scoop of ice cream! There’s still plenty of sunshine and summer fun ahead, but we wanted to take a moment to say hello. We are so excited to welcome our students back to school when the time comes. The start of a new school year always brings new adventures, new friendships, and new opportunities to learn and grow—and we can’t wait to share them with you.

Throughout this week and next, we’ll be sending you updates with important information so that you and your child will feel confident and ready when the first day arrives. We’ll share details about school procedures, updated important dates, and upcoming events.

For now, keep enjoying your summer days. Whether you’re traveling, playing, or simply relaxing at home, we hope you’re making memories that will last all year. We’ll be here, getting everything ready for an amazing year at JMUES—and counting down the days until we see our incredible 5th and 6th graders walk through our doors!

🇺🇸 Welcome to Merrimack, Mr. Thompson! We’re so happy you’re here! 🎆

Happy Fourth of July, Merrimack!

As your new Superintendent, I’m excited to begin getting to know this wonderful community as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

I’ll be at the Rotary Pancake Breakfast this morning and marching in the parade later today. If you see me, please stop and say hello. I’d love to meet you and learn more about Merrimack, its rich history, and the traditions that make it such a special place as we work together to build on that strong foundation and prepare our students for an exciting future.

Learning doesn’t take a summer vacation at JMUES! 🐆☀️📚

While many of our Jaguars are enjoying a well deserved summer break, some of our educators have been hard at work sharpening their own skills to bring even better learning experiences back to the classroom!

Last week, Mrs. Labreche, Mrs. Monroe, and Mrs. Fowler spent four days participating in the New Hampshire Learning Institute’s OGAP (Ongoing Assessment Project) training, diving deep into one of the most important areas of math: fractions! ➗🍕

OGAP is an evidence based professional learning program that helps teachers better understand how students learn mathematics and use ongoing formative assessment to adjust instruction to meet the needs of every learner. Their learning doesn’t stop here either. Throughout the school year, they’ll continue meeting virtually to analyze student work, strengthen instructional practices, and build on what they’ve learned.

We’re so proud of these educators for investing their summer in growing their expertise because our Jaguars deserve the very best. 🐾 💙

That’s a wrap on the 2025-2026 school year!

Today we celebrated the hard work, growth, and accomplishments of our students. It has been amazing to watch them learn new skills, build friendships, gain confidence, and take on challenges throughout the year.

While we’re excited for summer, we’re also sending our sixth graders off to middle school and wishing them all the best as they begin their next chapter. We know they’ll do great things!

Thank you to our students, staff, and families for a wonderful year. We hope everyone enjoys a fun, safe, and relaxing summer filled with time to recharge and make great memories. See you in the fall!
