πŸ“šβœ¨ School Feature Friday: Lake County Area

Our Catholic schools are places where students grow in faith, build meaningful friendships, and discover their God-given gifts. ✝️🀍

This week, we’re highlighting three schools serving families in the Lake County area:

πŸ“ St. Thomas More School β€” Munster, IN
πŸ“ Our Lady of Grace School β€” Highland, IN
πŸ“ St. Mary School β€” Griffith, IN

From the classroom to the community, these schools are helping students grow academically, spiritually, and personally while being surrounded by caring teachers, supportive families, and strong school communities. πŸŒ±πŸ“š

πŸ† We’re proud to recognize St. Thomas More School as a National Blue Ribbon School, an honor that celebrates its commitment to academic excellence and student achievement.

We’re grateful for the students, educators, and families who make each of these school communities so special. 🀍

πŸ“šβœοΈ Meet the Saints of September!

September allows us to learn from three saints whose lives show us what it means to follow Christ through love, faith, and service. 🀍

🌹 St. Teresa of Calcutta β€” September 5
She reminds us that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. We can follow her example by helping those who are struggling and treating every person with dignity.

πŸ“– St. Matthew the Apostle β€” September 21
St. Matthew reminds us that Jesus calls each of us to follow Him. We can follow his example by learning from Scripture, listening for God’s call, and sharing His love with others.

🀝 St. Vincent de Paul β€” September 27
St. Vincent reminds us that faith is meant to be lived through love and service. We can follow his example by helping those in need, giving generously, and serving with kindness.

As our students learn about these saints this September, may their examples inspire us all to grow in faith, love our neighbors, and put our faith into action each day. ✨

πŸ™St. Teresa of Calcutta, St. Matthew, and St. Vincent de Paul, pray for us!

✝️Faith at the center of everything we do.

β€œAcademically, personally, and spiritually, the center of it all is Jesus.”

At our Diocese of Gary Catholic schools, faith isn’t separate from learning; it’s the foundation of it. When students grow in their relationship with Chris, they also grow in confidence, character, and academic excellence. πŸ“šπŸ€

5 Simple Ways Families Can Keep Faith at the Center This School Year

A new school year brings new friendships, new lessons, and new opportunities to grow. As our students return to the classroom, families play an important role in helping faith continue to grow at home. 🀍

Small moments of prayer and connection can make a lasting impact:

πŸ™ Start the day with morning prayer
Invite God into each new day and ask for His guidance.

β›ͺ Attend Sunday Mass together
Make time each week to gather as a family and grow closer to Christ.

πŸ“š Ask about religion class
Create conversations about what your child is learning about their faith.

🀍 Pray for teachers and classmates
Lift the people who help make your school community special.

🌱 Find a way to serve others
Encourage your family to live out Christ’s call to love and serve.

Together, our families, schools, and parishes help form children to be fully alive as disciples of Jesus Christ in intellect, heart, and soul. ✨
