When the waltz first took over European ballroom in an early 19th century, it shocked society because partners held each other so close face-to-face (instead of dancing at arms length or in lines), Critic claimed it was morally corrupting. Some doctors even warned that the fast spinning would cause literal dizziness, fainting, and nervous breakdowns.

Thankfully times have changed today we know the only thing ballroom dancing catches you is a great workout, incredible community, and a serious mood boost.
