Applicants who submit their completed application will be scheduled for aptitude testing October 20–24, with the top 30% of testing candidates advancing to the interview process. The apprenticeship is scheduled to begin January 4, 2027.

BCRC RANDOM TESTING UPDATE 🚨

We have some good news!

We were able to make alternate arrangements and Kim’s Trucking Services LLC will be assisting with today’s BCRC random drug testing at the Teamsters Local 142 Apprentice & Training Center.

Testing will begin at the regularly scheduled time of 4:00 PM today.

We appreciate Kim’s Trucking Services LLC for stepping in and helping us make sure participants still have an opportunity to complete their required random testing despite the widespread storm-related power outages throughout the area.

BCRC RANDOM TESTING UPDATE!

Due to the severe storms that moved through Lake County yesterday, widespread power outages continue throughout the area. We understand this has created additional challenges for members who still need to complete their current BCRC random drug test.

The Teamsters Local 142 Apprentice & Training Center currently has power, and we have already received several calls this morning regarding testing availability.

I have spoken with Tish, Executive Director of BCRC, and we are currently waiting to hear whether a Powers Health representative can come to our Training Center earlier today so we can open the collection site sooner and give participants another opportunity to complete their random testing.

At this time, earlier testing hours have NOT yet been confirmed. Please wait for an official update before coming to the Training Center outside of the currently scheduled hours.

In Loving Memory of Jeffrey “Jeffro” Evans

Before his passing on July 1, 2025, Jeffrey Evans—known to many as Jeffro—generously offered to restore the custom semi-truck mailbox proudly displayed at the Teamsters Local 142 Training Center.

After years of exposure to the weather, the mailbox had taken quite a beating and needed a complete overhaul. Jeffro dedicated an incredible amount of time, skill, and care to bringing it back to life. We received the restored mailbox just a few months before his passing, and we have now finished painting the post and returned it to its place outside the Training Center.

The transformation is truly remarkable, but what makes it even more meaningful is the person behind the work. This mailbox will remain a lasting reminder of Jeffro’s generosity, craftsmanship, and the pride he took in helping others.

We are honored to proudly display his work and preserve a piece of his legacy here at the Training Center.

Please take a moment to view the before-and-after photos and appreciate the incredible work Jeffro put into this special project.

Rest in peace, Jeffro. Your hard work and kindness will not be forgotten. 💙🚛🕊️

🚨🌪️ TRAINING CENTER WEATHER UPDATE – WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17TH 🌪️🚨

Apparently Mother Nature reviewed tomorrow’s schedule and decided she’d like to participate.

We’ve been watching the forecasts, meteorologists, weather models, tornado parameters, warm fronts, cold fronts, spinny things, angry clouds, and whatever else the weather experts are losing sleep over tonight.

The current outlook includes the potential for:
🌪️ Tornadoes
💨 Damaging winds
⛈️ Severe thunderstorms
🧊 Large hail
😬 General atmospheric bad decisions

At this time, Teamsters Local 142 Apprenticeship & Training Center intends to be OPEN for BCRC Random Drug Testing as scheduled.

That being said, we’re going to take tomorrow one radar update at a time.

While random drug testing is important, none of us are interested in earning a starring role in Twister 3: The Drug Test Collection.

If weather conditions become dangerous, we may adjust operations accordingly. We are not willing to risk the safety of participants, our staff, or anyone traveling to and from the Training Center.

In the meantime:

✅ Have multiple ways to receive weather alerts
✅ Know where your safe place is
✅ Bring in anything that can become a neighborhood projectile
✅ Resist the urge to stand on your porch and say, “It doesn’t look that bad.” Which is the standard “Region” vibe.

Stay safe, stay weather aware, and hopefully tomorrow’s biggest emergency is deciding where to order lunch.
