Mrs. Schwandt's 2nd Graders stepped back in time with a horse-drawn wagon ride to the Brickyard Schoolhouse—making memories and exploring history!

Fall magic! 2nd graders found SO much joy in the simple things—jumping in leaf piles, playing in the crisp fall air, and even experiencing a “leaf tornado” on the blustery day! Sometimes the best memories are made right outside our door!

Our students recently had an important opportunity to learn and practice bus safety and our SOAR expectations while riding the bus!

Students practiced what it means to SOAR while preparing for safe bus rides to and from school—and for all the exciting learning adventures and field trips ahead!

A big thank-you to everyone who helped make this learning experience possible! We’re ready to SOAR safely wherever our learning takes us! Thank you Mrs. Carroll for organizing and teaching us all about our expectations on the bus!

For the last few years MAPS has focused on "Literacy Together" and students have seen continued success in literacy achievement. While we continue to raise literacy, we are excited to focus more on "Math Together" this school year!

Math isn't just done at a desk—it's all around us! From measuring ingredients while cooking dinner to counting change at the store or tracking scores during a game, family moments are full of math learning opportunities. Next time you're at the grocery store or baking a meal, ask your child to help you measure or compare prices!

How do you use math at home? Drop your favorite family board game or math activity in the comments!
