Today, on the 5th annual National Fentanyl Awareness Day, we pause to remember the lives impacted by the fentanyl crisis and to remind our community that awareness, education, and prevention can save lives.

At Community Parent Center, we believe prevention begins with conversations. It begins with parents being informed, young people understanding the risks, and our community working together to recognize the dangers of fentanyl and counterfeit pills.

💜 Education — Talk openly with your children and teens about the dangers of fentanyl and fake pills.
💜 Prevention — Equip families with knowledge and resources before a crisis happens.

School may be out, but safe driving never takes a vacation.

During the summer months, teens are on the road more often—heading to work, the beach, spending time with friends, and making memories. It’s also one of the most dangerous times of the year for young drivers.

Parents, take a few moments to have the conversation:
🚗 Buckle up every trip.
📵 Put the phone away.
🚦 Obey the speed limit.
🚫 Never drive under the influence or ride with someone who has.

With summer break in full swing, our neighborhoods are packed with kids on bikes, scooters, and on foot. Let's all do our part to keep our community safe with a few quick reminders behind the wheel:

Slow down in residential areas, near parks, and around beaches.
Ditch the distractions and put the phone away. A kid can dart out in the blink of an eye.

Expect the unexpected. Younger kids are still learning the rules of the road and don't always look both ways.

Check your blind spots and back out of driveways with extra caution.
