Title: The Secret of Being in Perfect Control of Life

Key Lesson #1: Resistance isn’t control; it is the fear of losing it.

Key Lesson #2: There is a difference between correcting painful problems and demanding that life stop bringing them up. The first concerns the situation at hand. The second can squander an entire lifetime when every unexpected change challenges the security we’ve imagined, become identified with, and then believe we must maintain at all costs.

Key Lesson #3: For what does it profit a man, if to acquire greater control over unwanted circumstances he surrenders himself to the fearful nature compelling him to do so?

Key question: What is the value of controlling any conflict if we remain inwardly captive to the demand for it?

Key Lesson #4: The compulsion to try and control a fear is so familiar that its demand feels like our own wish. But can we see the false sense of self that we are being deceived into defending? Can we see how much of our stress is connected to trying to regain control over something what was never ours to control in the first place?

Summary Key Lesson: As a rule, all we see in any unwanted moments is some wave that seems to threaten what we’ve imagined is the purpose of our journey; where the more we try to control any seemingly fearful moment, the less possibility we have of becoming aware of the greater waters (of Life)… from out of which all waves rise, and back into which they must return.
