Diahna Stubbs ’28 has earned the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest and most prestigious achievement in Girl Scouts of the USA 🏅

The award recognizes Girl Scouts who demonstrate exceptional leadership by identifying a significant issue in their communities and developing a sustainable solution through a rigorous “Take Action” project requiring at least 80 hours of work.

For Diahna, that issue was water conservation.

Her Gold Award project, “Water Works,” grew out of a simple observation at her church, The Church of St. Andrew and St. Monica: There was an opportunity to reduce the number of single-use plastic water bottles used by members of the congregation and the broader community.

Diahna partnered with the church to create a portable water filtration system that provides free filtered water to community members. Rather than purchasing bottled water, people can bring their own reusable bottles to the church and fill them for free—reducing plastic waste while also helping families save money. As part of the project, Diahna distributed reusable water bottles featuring the “Water Works” logo, designed by her classmate and fellow Girl Scout troop member Gabrielle Bradley ’28.

This summer, three Merion Mercy students lent their time, talent, and leadership to CCC Shines — one of the area's premier youth theater company and performing arts community — to help children shine both on and off stage ✨✨

⭐ Lily Nelson ’27 served as a Vocal Instructor, working with campers throughout the summer as they grew in their vocal abilities, confidence, and gifts on and off the stage.
⭐Jenna Scorsone ’29 served as a Camp Counselor, ensuring elementary-aged campers felt supported, included, and excited to participate while creating priceless summer camp memories.
⭐ Elle Chrest ’29 began the summer as a Camp Counselor before quickly growing to Assistant Choreographer! In her role, she instructed young campers throughout the day while also supporting the CCC Shine production team.

Please join us in congratulating Lily, Elle, and Jenna for spreading joy and shining a light on the Mercy mission!

This summer, Merion Mercy students joined the team at Camino Farms for an extraordinary week helping individuals of all abilities to have an amazing camp experience and realize that everyone belongs💙💛

Founded by Merion Mercy alum Katie Keating ‘77 and her husband Pierce, and led by fellow Merion alum Katrina Keating ‘12, Camino Farms is a non-profit retreat center nestled on a stunning 200-acre sanctuary designed for youth camps, parish retreats, and leadership programs.

As part of their camp season, Merion students and chaperones volunteered as camp companions, serving teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Whether it was on the farm, in the kitchen, on the court or over the dance floor, this week was about creating a community of true joy, dignity, and belonging✨

40+ members of the Class of 2027 stopped in to school for today for our College Application Workshop📝

Led by the Merion Mercy College Counseling Office, the workshop provided expert guidance on completing the common application, activity lists, and personal essays in a way that takes the pressure off the process. When the stress fades, stories shine through — ones that illustrate young women with purpose, curiosity, and heart.

Each Mercy Immersion trip to Bethlehem Farm is truly a gift 💙💛

Rooted in service, faith, and simplicity, students spent their six-day trip supporting local communities through various repair projects including farming, underpinning a mobile home, and building a ramp for a disabled veteran.

Grateful for the hands we held, the work we shared, and the grace that met us in West Virginia.
