Fair season is just around the corner, which means it’s time for our ag students to weigh in their animals! Mrs. Heikes met up with Emrie, 🐑Fred, and 🐑Toby for initial weigh-ins and a little show ring practice.

What an incredible way to wrap up his freshman year! Paxton qualified for the 2026 Idaho High School Rodeo State Finals in Tie-Down Roping and had the opportunity to compete against the top high school rodeo athletes in Idaho down in Pocatello the week of June 6-13th.

None of Paxton's rodeo accomplishments would have been possible without his trusty partner, Big. At 23 years old, Big may have a few more years under his belt than Paxton, but the bond, trust, and countless hours they've spent together have made them a remarkable team. From practice runs to the state finals arena, Big has been right there every step of the way, helping Paxton achieve one of his biggest goals as a Freshman. Together, they've spent countless hours in the arena, building the trust and confidence that helped carry them to the Idaho High School Rodeo State Finals. Their success is a testament to the special bond between a cowboy and his horse. 🤠🐴❤️

Paxton's freshman year was packed with accomplishments. Along with qualifying for the state finals in rodeo, he was also a state qualifier in wrestling, helping his team earn its second consecutive 2A State Championship. On the football field, he helped lead his team to a runner-up finish in the state championship game, and through it all, he remained committed to his academics, maintaining an impressive 3.73 GPA. His dedication, work ethic, and commitment to his goals continue to make us proud! 🤩
