EMCED School Reopening Statement

The member school districts of the East Mississippi Center for Educational Development have been working collaboratively with each other, local health officials, the Mississippi Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control to plan for the safe opening of schools in the Fall. The first priority for all school districts will be the safety of students and staff. Schools have been actively planning for reopening since the closures began.
Second to the health and safety of students and staff, schools have been focused on preparing to maintain the academic rigor that is necessary to insure a bright future for all students.
We plan to finalize and release a plan for the return to school by July 6.
