Thank you Ron Abramovich for stopping by the Idaho Fine Arts Academy today and teaching our 7th graders about water, weather, and data analysis! Ron is a retired hydrologist, friend, and amazing tele skier who knows so much about this topic and is always willing to share his knowledge! It’s looking like a big EL Niño weather year next year…
A great way to start the day! Mayor Simison delivered a keynote to Idaho Fine Arts Academy students about what it means to volunteer as they kicked off their 2023 Day of Service to help out in the community, including at Reta Huskey and Keith Bird parks. Mayor Simison also had the opportunity to celebrate this years’ Idaho Fine Arts Academy Mayor’s Awards to youth recipients Izabell Sanchez and Tristan Rodino. Congratulations Izabell and Tristan, and thank you Principal Housel, Students and IFAA! Excellence at its best! Idaho Fine Arts Academy
Today, Spencer Boliou, Divonne Wins LaVan and myself will be performing alongside the amazingly talented musicians and artists of Idaho Fine Arts Academy! Tickets are only $10, and the show starts at 7:00 p.m. tonight. I have a few comp tickets left so if you would like to grab some, get at me and we can meet up! I hope to see your amazing faces there! Until then, stay safe and healthy 🙏🏿

Alright y'alls, it's that time again where I'm looking to grab some features for my next album titled "ZERO Pt. II"

Here's the deal, I want to give some artists that haven't featured on my albums before another chance, so if we have work together on the last two previous albums comma I will ask that you give some other artists a chance.

This album with feat. Cappadonna of Wu-Tang Clan, Jarren Benton, students from Idaho Fine Arts Academy and more!

I really want to give some new artists on the scene opportunities to add to their catalog so tap in with me, DM'ing me will probably be the best.

P.S. if you're not chosen, please do not take it personal, if I had a million tracks to put out, I'd put everybody on it if I could. All love 🙏🏿

P.P.S. I always have trouble getting tracks back on time, so if we do collab, please do your best to get it back to me promptly or even come record at my house! Looking forward to connecting with y'all soon! 🙏🏿 ❤️

Yesterday... Was such an amazing day!

These talented artists, musicians, vocalists, dancers... Just WOW! The caliber these kids possess soars above anything I have seen. The humility, respect and tradition they carry within themselves... Much respect young Kings 👑 and young Queens 👑

I am truly blessed to have the honor of working with these individuals over at Idaho Fine Arts Academy for the next few months as we will be creating together! 🤯🤯🤯

If any of my fellow artists would love the opportunity to work with these creators as well, DM me or DM Rachel Schroeder Swenson!

Let's bring this into the light! 🙏🏿 ❤️

Photos from my recent visit to Idaho Fine Arts Academy. What a magically extraordinary School for Children. This school does it all, the range they teachers goes from English, science, math Ect. to vocal control, Instruments and dance. The fact that this school doesn't have the recognition it deserves blows my freaking mind. I am so grateful and appreciative to Rachel Schroeder Swenson for the opportunity and to the children for their willingness to collab with me. I'm so stoked! First stop will be November 3rd at the JUMP Boise for their performances and I will do a guest performance as well. And next, I'll be creating a piece with the them for their dancers to choreograph too! So freaking cool :-)
We’re featuring several of the outstanding young women and men this summer that recently graduated from West Ada. Raeya Wardle attended Idaho Fine Arts Academy from 6th grade on. She’s an amazing artist and musician that will attend BYU in the fall. She also serves on the Meridian Arts Commission. She is West Ada Ready!

This October, IFAA will be teaming up with local nonprofits to spearhead a truly magnificent fundraiser that supports homeless teenagers in the Treasure Valley! The event will be held on October 10th from 4pm to 7pm at the JUMP building in downtown Boise. This will be an evening for our students to give the public a free performance highlighting the skills they have cultivated at IFAA. A student art gallery with live performances by all art majors will be on display! There will be raffles, and silent auctions for attendees to win prizes and donate to a good cause. All proceeds will be donated to the Boise Rescue Mission to assist with meeting the goal of $25k. The pressures of being a normal teenager with healthy social life hit close to home and our goal is to help provide these teenagers with a sense of normalcy and comfort during the holidays. Join us on the 6th floor of the Jump building in the Pioneer room for a glimpse into our future and a chance to make a difference!

The Idaho Fine Arts Academy High School Dancers and Classical Pianists Present RESONANCE
Prelude in G Minor
Composer: Sergei Rachmaninov
Pianist: Carlos Torres
Choreographers and Dancers: Katy Adams, Lilee McLean, Lauren Miller, Addisyn Jones
Music Artist Statement: The Prelude opens with dark and brooding
chords that set the tone for the entire piece. With the simple heartbeat of a Siberian march, the piece creates a rich soundscape of fiery romantic images. The dancers will accompany the galloping rhythms, swirling smokey arpeggios, and burning melodies. This is a dance of an infernal stallion.
Dance Artist Statement: This classical ballet dance was inspired by
Rachmaninov’s dynamic and intricate music. The music has a very
“springy” base that is represented in the dance. The dance includes lots of jumps and direction changes in the choreography to represent the dynamic music.

IFAA ORIGINAL MUSIC AND DANCE:

The Idaho Fine Arts Academy High School Dancers and Classical Pianists Present RESONANCE

Original Composition #2
Composer: Samuel Bell
Pianist: Samuel Bell
Choreographers and Dancers: Tessa Trites, Ella Dabney, Izzabella
deBelloy, Arwen Hall
Dance Artist Statement: This piece revolves around the idea of hope. The music starts out slow with a single dancer onstage, showing that she is looking for others and has lost her “spark.” Through connection, people can find hope. The piece portrays the visual of connection and relying on others as then disconnecting. Through disconnection, there is always a path of hope of connection at the end. When the rest of the dancers appear, they dance in unison, showing that they have found hope in each other. Hope can be found in unusual ways.

IFAA ORIGINAL MUSIC AND DANCE:

The Idaho Fine Arts Academy High School Dancers and Classical Pianists Present RESONANCE

Prelude on a Theme of Elgar
Composer: Carlos Torres and Edward Elgar
Pianist: Carlos Torres
Choreographers and Dancers: Tenley Howell, Lilee McLean, Izabell
Sanchez
Music Artist Statement: Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor is a beloved work of the classical repertoire and is widely considered to be one of the greatest works for cello and orchestra. It features a soulful and mournful melody that echoes on and on throughout the prelude. In this prelude version transcribed for piano, the whole and dark tones of the cello will be imitated by the piano, and the dancers will bring motion to the simple yet deep melody. This piece was written by Elgar amidst terrible grief and resonates with a sensation of longing, incomparable to any other pain.
Dance Artist Statement: This contemporary modern dance is inspired by the fast-changing tempo of the music. The emotions throughout the piece contribute to how the music is paced, when the music is heavy and slow, so are the movements. When the music is dark and emotional, the pianist strikes the piano keys intensely, and the choreography embodies the feeling and creates unexpected moments for the audience.

Clouds
Composer: Samuel Bell
Pianist: Samuel Bell
Choreographers and Dancers: Makella Bergeson, Ella Dabney, Izzabella deBelloy, Arwen Hall, Addisyn Jones, Olivia Walker
Artist Statement: The piece Clouds is about the relationship with the people around us. It tackles the idea of feeling completely alone even when surrounded by people. Loneliness is learning to deal with the absence of others within a person's life. It becomes confusing when you cannot seem to tell if you are truly alone, signifying the idea of clouds blurring the truth.

The Idaho Fine Arts Academy Middle School Dancers
& Special Guests Present CONNECTIVITY
“Art matters because it illustrates the human experience—
the wonder of it, the bewilderment of it, the whimsy of it,
and so much more. We would not be connected so deeply
without the existence of art.” – Kathleen Dinsmore

ACT I
The Four Seasons- Antonio Lucio Vivaldi
The Four Seasons is one of the most popular and well-known works to emerge from the Baroque Era of classical music. It was composed by Anton Vivaldi in 1723 and consists of four violin concertos, each representing a different season of the year. It was a highly innovative musical work for its time, as it was one of the earliest compositions considered to be Programmatic Music; instrumental music depicting a narrative that could be anything from a literary idea, landscapes, and scenes, or human behaviors/states of mind. In the case of The Four Seasons, Vivaldi takes us through his own vivid interpretation of the specific mood each season represents, as the listener is taken on a musical journey filled with bird songs, lightning storms, and falling on
ice.
Conductor: Monica Palmer
Musicians: Idaho Fine Arts Academy’s Middle School Classical Majors - Emma Bjorkman, Jade Carr, Abigail Cox, Indigo DellaBadia, Kathy Deng, Lillian Dwight, Rylee Lawrence, Delta Pomerans

Title: Spring
Composer: Antonio Lucio Vivaldi
Music Arrangement: Kees Schoonenbeek
Choreographers and Dancers: Gracelyn Dietz, Madison Forst, Harper Jones, Beatriz Nascimento, Elise Preller, Lyla Swenson, and variation by Anna Adaska
Artist Statement: This piece was inspired by Anna Adaska’s phrase of choreography and then varied and elaborated onto. The music of this piece has many textures. It has fast and slow sections which match the movement throughout the dance. The choreography represents budding flowers growing through the piece and lifting out of the ground. The dancers wear pointe shoes which require strength to show a floating sensation that gives character to this piece.

Title: Summer
Composer: Antonio Lucio Vivaldi
Music Arrangement: Kees Schoonenbeek
Choreographers and Dancers: Parker Buck, Avery Busch, Baylee
Stoneberg, Savannah Clark, Anneliese Van Auker, Abby Hansen, and
variation by Anna Adaska
Dance Artist Statement: The Summer season ballet dance was inspired by a phrase choreographed by Anna Adaska. The dancers pulled from her phrase to inspire movement. The dancers are trained technically in ballet and wear point shoes to elongate lines and create flowy, breathy movements reminiscent of a summer breeze. The musical composition has many textures and tempos. The dancers generated movement to fit both the slow and fast notes. The dance demonstrates the beauty of simplicity and the complexities of powerful movement. The dancers project a happy and joyful feeling of summer.

Title: Autumn
Composer: Antonio Lucio Vivaldi
Choreographers and Dancers: Alexa Braun, Makena Elle, Sienna Francel, Layla Martinez, Bridget Pechota, Katelyn Tuller, and variation by Anna Adaska
Artist Statement: This smooth adagio inspired by Anna Adaska’s
variation represents the angelic and elegant movement of Autumn
leaves. As the dancers calmly move across the stage, people can picture a bright and gentle Autumn scene. The dancers choreographed this piece full of extensions and flowy movement to a three/four rhythm. The triplet rhythm is commonly associated with the waltz which influenced the choreography in the dance-making process.

Title: Winter
Composer: Antonio Lucio Vivaldi
Choreographers and Dancers: Olivia Benitez, Sophie Clark, Callay
Cromwell, Bella Goggins, Anna Martindale, and variation by Anna
Adaska
Artist Statement: This ballet dance was inspired by Anna Adaska’s ballet variation that was choreographed for the middle school dance majors. The music expresses all the stages and different dynamics of winter. This piece is all about being creative with fast, energetic movement. The waltzing and the jumping can represent dynamic textures and the feel of the light, airy music that performs. The music starts off gently like snowflakes falling slowly. The music then gets more intense progressively as the wind picks up and the storm builds causing one to shiver and chatter teeth. The different speeds at which instrumentation changes have a dramatic and calming effect in which the dance varies. Winter is a season where warmth brings people together, and gratitude makes special, energetic connections.

Title: Hopelessly Devoted to You - Grease
Composer: John Farrar
Choreographers and Dancers: Alexa Braun, Parker Buck, Avery Busch, Madison Forst, Sienna Francel, Bella Goggins, Anna Martindale, Elise Preller, Katelyn Tueller
Artist Statement: The 1950s musical Grease tells a story of a young girl, Sandy, who is deeply devoted to her summer lover, Danny. This song is from the 1970s movie version of the musical. The movement was inspired by the simple flowy movement of the time period and song. The dancers tell a story through dance and emphasize the character’s devotion to a special someone using unison and repetition to empower the character. The movement is inspired by the heartbreak and longing for someone through free and thrashing movement through space.

Composer: Leonard Bernstein
Choreographers and Dancers: Savannah Clark, Makena Elle, Abigail Hansen, Layla Martinez, Bridget Pechota, Baylee Stoneberg

Artist Statement: Taking inspiration from the musical West Side Story and the Latin style of salsa, this musical theatre piece is full of energy and sass. As you watch this piece, imagine a happy, upbeat Puerto Rican community in the upper West side of Manhattan. The characters share their life experiences as immigrants in the United States and debate the pros and cons of living in New York.

The music has high energy and dramatic parts to make it appealing. A story will be told by expressing movements such as getting ready for something big and by having heels to add to the 1960s vibe.
