What does a $10k piece of glass look like?
This 'fragment' was missed in the interior clean up by the shop. It ended up in the foot of an adult passenger this summer.
But... they didnt notice it.
No blood... foot was hurting for a few months. Went to Dr. they dug out glass and then boom shop had a 'personal injury from negligence' claim.
Shop was able to settle for the $10k.
Vehicle had more glass found on inspection. Settlement was inclusive (injury, bills, property damage).

Insurers are starting to file against shops for "refunds" on total loss charges.
The services contract you have (or do not have) is the 1st defense in suit.
DO NOT get caught with only an Authorization to Repair and Direction to Pay!
