I've been sorting through gifts and reading cards and letters from students, parents, fellow teachers, co-workers and my boss...THANK YOU!!

I have loved my job since the first student stepped through the doors 19 years ago. The hugs, laughter, questions, willingness to try, tears of frustration, smiles of victory, parent accolades and love made every day rewarding. There were hard days when I wasn't sure I was the right teacher for the job and days I cried on my way home but I never regretted leaving my junior high teaching position to teach my preschoolers.

I haven't wanted to discuss my retirement from teaching at the preschool. I told everyone it was because I was still teaching over the summer and I have a very small roll in the preschool next year...subbing, planning, events etc. But in truth I don't know what to say. I will miss it. I will enjoy my time with my new granddaughter a lot!! I will enjoy time with my 4 older granddaughters...attending school events, picking them up, lunches etc. But I will miss teaching.

Thank you, Chris for hiring me. You changed my life for the better and thank you isn't enough. You are a wonderful boss who loves children and your staff. You created a perfect environment for educating students. Thank you for holding students and staff to the highest level while keeping the fun!

Thank you to all who have worked along side me. You were and are a vital part of A Step Ahead. Without all of my amazing co-workers, I wouldn't have loved my job as much.

Thank you to all of the parents who have trusted me with your children over the years. You went above and beyond to show your appreciation. Thank you again.

I will see many of you in and around the building next year and I look forward to it.

A Step Ahead Preschool & Childcare is hiring a Childcare Provider for children age 18 months-5 years old. This job is ideal for a college student, parent, or anyone who loves to work with young children. This is a year-round, long term position. Come join an amazing team and work environment!

We are looking to hire a dependable, caring individual who is passionate about helping children and making a difference in their lives. If you are looking for a long-term position in a professional setting, then A Step Ahead Preschool and Childcare is the place for you!

-Treat all children equally and be kind

-Develop professional, trustworthy relationships with children and their families

-Assist in preparing and teaching daily curriculum

-Oversee all daily activities to ensure the safety of the children

-Maintain the cleanliness of the facility by sanitizing and organizing classrooms daily

-Assist with potty-training and diaper changes

-Take part in staff meetings, trainings and events

-Follow all polices and procedures written in the A Step Ahead Preschool & Childcare Handbook

-Keep detailed documentation of any accidents, incidents, illness, behavioral observations, etc...

Requirements:

-Must be at least 18 years or older

-Must have a high school diploma or GED

-Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation

-Must complete an enhanced background check through the state of Idaho

-Must be able to obtain a current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, renewed annually

-Must be able to complete a series of training requirements through IdahoSTARS, renewed annually

-Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills

-Experience working in a childcare facility is preferred

Our primary goal at A Step Ahead Preschool and Childcare is to help your child enjoy learning. We provide an environment to enhance growth for the whole child. Children learn by actively exploring, discovering, observing and interacting with one another. Our students will be encouraged to express themselves through art, music, movement, writing and language. At A Step Ahead Preschool & Childcare, all our lead teachers hold Bachelors of Arts degrees in Education. We have the pleasure of interacting with over 225 Treasure Valley families per year, and our preschool has been in operation locally since 1998.
