Meridian Middle School

Congratulations to all four of our wonderful teams who competed on Saturday! We were SO EXCITED when one of our teams won 2nd place in the Team Problem Solving category, beating out 33 high school and middle school teams from all over the state, including schools like Renaissance and Treasure Valley Math and Science Center! Wow! Our kids have always excelled in the area of collaborating on Math and communicating their reasoning to each other and on paper to the judges, which is one of the most important skills for future careers in STEM. Some student leaders at MMS got to attend a field trip to downtown Boise today. Through walking tours of the Anne Frank Memorial and JUMP, students recognized elements of diversity, art, caring for community, recreation, and nature all in our beautiful city! We can’t wait to see how they implement their findings at MMS. 👏

Community Schools Update: We'd like to give a huge "thank you!" to Optum Idaho and D & B Supply for donating $5,000 worth of product to our Chief's Closet. The Chief's Closet has new and gently used items that are available to help students in need of clothing. We rely on donations to make this possible. We couldn't do this without the generosity of community members like Optum Idaho and D & B. Thank you!

This week our 7th and 8th AVID students made FlipGrid videos to present their college research projects!

Mrs. Brown’s 6th graders finished the ancient Mesopotamia unit by writing in cuneiform on clay tablets!

MMS is a drop off location for this amazing drive! 🩵

Representative Ehlers came to MMS for Principal for the Day! He visited classrooms and spoke to our student leadership forum! These students asked and answered great questions about MMS and school! We appreciated his time at MMS! Thank you!
