🌺🌼 NEMS Campus Beautification Day 🌼🌺

Northeast Middle School is looking for community volunteers to help us beautify our campus!

📅 Date: July 9, 2026
⏰ Time: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Location: Northeast Middle School

We will be working together to refresh and enhance our flower beds with planting, weeding, mulching, and general landscaping. This is a great opportunity to give back to our school and help create a welcoming environment for our students, staff, and community.

🌹 Community helpers are needed! Whether you can stay for an hour or the entire morning, your support is greatly appreciated.

Please bring gardening gloves and any small gardening tools you would like to use.

✏️ Summer Skill Spotlight: Writing

Strong writing skills support success in every subject.

Try these activities:
✅ Keep a daily journal
✅ Write about a summer experience
✅ Create stories, poems, or comic strips
✅ Write letters or emails to family members

Just 10-15 minutes a few times a week helps students maintain their writing skills.

Today, the NEMS PTO Executive Board enjoyed a delicious lunch while planning for the 2026–2027 school year! We are grateful for their support and excited about the great ideas ahead.

📚 Summer Skill Spotlight: Reading

Parents, encourage your child to read at least 20 minutes each day this summer! Reading helps build vocabulary, comprehension, and critical thinking skills.

Ideas:
✅ Read a novel, magazine, or newspaper article
✅ Listen to an audiobook and discuss it together
✅ Visit your local library

Small amounts of reading each day make a big difference!

📣 Northeast Middle School is seeking a certified teacher interested in an 8-week long-term substitute position during the 2026–2027 school year.

📅 Position begins in August 2026.
