Congratulations to our violin instructor, Miss Alex!

🎶 Big news, MSO family! Join us in giving a warm welcome to our new Concertmaster, Alex Nicholls!

🎻Alex has been playing the violin since age eight and has deep musical roots right here in the Treasure Valley. She holds a bachelor's from George Fox University and a master's from Boise State University (where she was in the BSU Graduate String Quartet!).

You might already recognize her from her work with the Boise Baroque Orchestra, Boise Philharmonic, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, or Opera Idaho.

To help you get to know Alex, we asked her a few quick questions:

✨ What keeps you busy? Besides playing, Alex teaches private violin and composition lessons and even invented SoliRest, an ergonomic shoulder rest for string players!

✨ Hobbies outside of music? Crafting, running, reading, and exploring the beautiful Idaho outdoors with her husband.

✨ How does she feel about joining MSO? "Alex is thrilled to begin her role as Concertmaster...
