MSU Meridian accepts third cohort of nursing students While classes at MSU Meridian don't officially start back for another week, one group of students is alraedy hard at work.

MSU-Meridian is proud to share some scenes from Thursday's graduation as we celebrated the hard work, dedication and accomplishments of our newest Master of Science in Nursing graduates.

Healthcare in the Magnolia State gained 35 advanced professionals August 6 with the graduation of Mississippi State’s second Master of Science in Nursing cohort.

TRAFFIC NOTICE: Temporary Closure of 22nd Avenue

On Monday, August 10, 22nd Avenue will be closed between 5th and 6th streets from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The closure will allow crews to complete HVAC repairs and upgrades at the Mississippi State University Riley Center.

Detour signs will be posted, and motorists are encouraged to follow the designated routes, use caution and allow extra travel time while moving through downtown Meridian.

The City of Meridian, Mississippi, and Mississippi State University-Meridian appreciate your patience as this important work is completed.

When Mississippi State University-Meridian’s newest Master of Science in Nursing graduates receive their degrees this August, they’ll enter the profession equipped to serve communities across the state and beyond. Four of these grads attribute their success, in part, to scholarships they received from the Mississippi Nurses Foundation.

Mississippi State University-Meridian’s 2026 Master of Physician Assistant Studies graduating cohort recently achieved a 100% board pass rate, making this the second cohort in as many years to achieve the hallmark accomplishment for first-time test takers and the third year to achieve an overall 100% pass rate.

As Mississippi State prepares to seat its largest Master of Science in Nursing cohort yet with 52 incoming students, the Mississippi Legislature has recognized the university’s inaugural Senior Nurse Fellow Kim Welch Hoover for her more than 40 years of excellence in healthcare.
