This week, the School of Health Professions hosted its second Research Seminar Series, featuring Dr. Stephanie Hyche and Lele Kirkpatrick. Together, they brought more than 45 years of combined experience and shared valuable insights into the research support resources available at Mississippi State University. Their presentation highlighted opportunities to support faculty research, strengthen proposal development and access grant-writing assistance and related training. We are grateful for their time, expertise and commitment in helping our faculty advance their research endeavors and build successful research programs.

After 33 years of combined service with Riley Development Systems and The Riley Foundation, Becky Farley retired as Executive Director of The Riley Foundation on Dec. 31, 2025.

In January 2026, Farley joined the Board of Directors of The Riley Foundation, where she serves on the Executive Committee as board secretary and will continue her role as liaison to Mississippi State University.

Mississippi State University-Meridian is expanding its health professions offerings with a new Doctor of Physical Therapy degree program.
Designed to make doctoral-level training more accessible while helping meet a critical workforce need in Mississippi, the physical therapy program is expected to begin accepting applications in 2028 and will welcome its first cohort of 50 students in fall 2029.
