Dr. Amanda Cook Cox continues to provide outstanding experiential learning opportunities for the Criminology majors at MSU Meridian.
MSU-Meridian's Criminology students visited Meridian Municipal Court last week to observe misdemeanor domestic violence trials and sentencing, interact with judges, prosecutors, public defenders, court clerks, police officers, detectives, mental health representatives, crime scene investigators, as well as inmates. They also observed two felony preliminary hearings at the end of the day and were regaled with frontline stories as the judge highlighted our community-based approach to justice. This experience will impact how these students think about crime and justice issues as well as the type of role they want to play in the overall criminal justice system.
