Northwood PTA supports Northwood Elementary through fundraising, volunteerism, programs, and activities. Our goal is to help Northwood Elementary foster a safe, caring learning environment that embraces all cultures, addresses students’ social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs, and provides educational opportunities that will help students reach their academic and creative potential.

Bring the whole family for an outdoor picnic and lots of fun. Admission and activities are free!

• Field games run by Soccer Fun Camp
• Bouncy houses, craft station, balloon artists and games!

Great news! We have extended the deadline to register your student's business idea to Wednesday, April 15! Find the complete rules, guidelines for food items, and the entry form at NorthwoodOwlsPTA.org.

Marketplace is a fun event where students get to create their own business/product plan, bring it to life, and sell it to their friends with "owl" bucks!

Don’t miss this chance to register your young entrepreneur and give them a hands-on opportunity to learn the basics of economics and finance in a fun, real-world setting.

Today is Election Day! Drop your ballot in the ballot drop box at the MI Community Center by 8 PM tonight.

Every four years, Mercer Island voters decide whether to replace the Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) Levy. The levy is not a new tax; it is collected through local property taxes and 100% of levy dollars stay on the Island to support our schools. The current EP&O levy will expire in 20262026.

The EP&O Renewal Levy funds 16% of MISD's annual budget. It supports:
• art, music, and drama programs
• athletics, clubs, and co-curricular activities
• 7-period day at MIHS
• elective courses
• advanced math and science classes
• enrichment programs
• 40% of our Special Education budget

It also funds additional teachers for reduced class-sizes, para-professionals, nurses, academic counselors, and the school resource officer. Without this vital funding, the school district will have to cut beloved programming and staff.

Books + Bites TODAY!!

Join us today at Island Books for our annual Books + Bites fundraiser! Stop by any time from 9 AM - 6 PM to check off your holiday shopping list while supporting Northwood and our wonderful, local, independently-owned bookstore.

Continuing their generous, long-standing commitment to Mercer Island schools, Island Books will donate 15% of all sales — books, toys, housewares, gift cards* (no limit on amount or quantity!), and more — to the Northwood PTA in support of our students, teachers, and school activities. PTA will provide light bites and beverages for you to enjoy while perusing the store. Please note that gift wrapping will not be available during Books + Bites.

After shopping at Island Books, head over to Mercerdale Park for the 5:30 PM tree lighting and performances from the High School Choir and Creation Dance Studio.
