Science Academy students can receive additional support and prepare for the TSI and STAAR assessments through our after-school tutorial program.

Weekly Schedule:
➗ Math TSI/STAAR Prep: Mondays and Wednesdays
📖 ELAR TSI/STAAR Prep: Tuesdays and Thursdays

Late buses will be available for students who stay for tutorials.

We are excited to welcome our students to the 2026–2027 school year! A few final reminders:

⏰ Breakfast in the Classroom begins at 7:50 a.m.; instruction begins at 8:20 a.m.
📵 Personal communication devices must be powered off and stored away from 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
🎒 Clear or mesh backpacks are required.
🚗 Family drop-off and pick-up routes remain the same. Please review the attached maps and be aware that district buses follow different entry and exit routes in the morning and afternoon.

Please follow staff directions and allow extra time during the first few days.

Dragon Families,

If you still need to pick up your student’s FREE backpack packed with school supplies, Science Academy will be open tomorrow morning!

Our staff will be available to help families with:

🎒 Backpack & School Supply Pickup
Students who have not yet received their backpack can pick it up during these hours.

💻 Skyward Online Registration Assistance
If your student’s 2026–2027 Skyward Online Registration is still pending, staff will be available to help you complete and submit it.

⚠️ REMINDER: Online Registration Deadline

The deadline to submit Skyward Online Registration was today, Friday, August 14, at 12:00 p.m. Students whose registration remains pending will have their course schedule dropped until registration is completed. Once submitted, students will be rescheduled based on course availability, and original course assignments cannot be guaranteed.

If you still need assistance, please take advantage of tomorrow morning’s opportunity so we can help you get everything taken care of before the first day of school!

Good Evening, Science Academy Families!

We are excited to welcome our Dragons back for the 2026–2027 school year!

Please review the attached Science Academy Welcome Letter and reference materials. The packet includes important information regarding:

The first day of school and student arrival
Breakfast, lunch, and after-school dinner
Clear or mesh backpacks
Student IDs, lockers, and parking
Cell phones and personal communication devices
Morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up
The bell schedule and A/B calendar
Meet the Teacher/Open House

Students return Monday, August 17, and should arrive by 7:50 a.m. to receive Breakfast in the Classroom and be ready for instruction when the school day begins at 8:20 a.m.

🐉🍎 FUEL THE DRAGONS—ALL DAY! 🥪🍽️

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available to every Science Academy student at no cost—and we are working to make the SA meal experience faster, easier and more inviting for 2026–2027!

✨ Refreshed cafeteria
🐉 Updated Dragon Grab-and-Go cart
⚡ Three lunch lines for faster service
🍏 Approved sharing tables
🌅 Classroom breakfast from 7:50–8:20 a.m.
🌙 Dinner available after school

Beginning Monday, August 17, all students will start their lunch period in the cafeteria, proceed through one of the three meal lines and remain inside for at least the first 15 minutes. After completing the lunch process, students may transition to the SA Yard or Student Lounge.

Students may still bring ready-to-eat food from home; however, student microwaves will not be available.

Strong participation helps protect the continued availability of meals at no cost and helps STISD preserve more resources for academics, student programs and facility improvements.

Additional information will be shared directly with SA students and families through ParentSquare.

Good morning, Dragon Families!

Tonight is Science Academy’s inaugural Back-to-School Bash, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone as we kick off the 2026–2027 school year!

To help make your evening as smooth as possible, please review these important updates:

🎒 Every Science Academy student will receive a FREE backpack filled with school supplies! Families may either use our NEW Drive-Thru Backpack Pickup (enter through the GREEN entrance near the Bus Barn) or park and enjoy the full Back-to-School Bash. Please review the updated campus map for traffic flow and parking information.

📚 Student schedules will be available in Skyward beginning at 5:00 p.m. Printed copies will also be available in the Counseling Center.

🔄 Schedule changes will NOT be made tonight. The Schedule Change Request Form opens Friday, August 7, at 8:00 a.m. and closes Friday, August 21, at 11:59 p.m.

📸 Student ID photos will be taken during the first week of school. Students will continue to have transportation and free breakfast/lunch while ID cards are being processed.

📋 If your Skyward Online Registration is still pending, you may complete it tonight in SAIL Room 504 or on your own before the August 14, 12:00 p.m. deadline. Students with incomplete registration after the deadline will be removed from their schedules until registration is completed.

🏫 Can’t make it tonight? The front office will be available to assist with backpack pickup and Skyward Online Registration during the posted office hours. Please see the attached graphics for dates and times.

The countdown is on! We can’t wait to welcome our Dragon families as we kick off another incredible school year!
