βοΈπ Dragons in Aggieland! π
While most students are enjoying summer break, Science Academy students are immersed in experiences that few high school students across the nation ever have the opportunity to experience.
The Texas A&M Summer Symposium is an exclusive partnership between Texas A&M University and South Texas ISD Science Academy in which a select group of rising Science Academy seniors attend to learn from and work alongside Aggie faculty, researchers, and students while exploring some of the most advanced fields in science and engineering.
Earlier this week, students had the opportunity to explore Texas A&Mβs Nuclear Engineering facilities, including a visit to the nuclear power plant control room simulator. Through research activities, laboratory experiences, engineering seminars, and direct interaction with university faculty and STEM professionals, our Dragons are gaining firsthand exposure to the technologies and innovations shaping the future. π¬βοΈπ
Students are also learning about research initiatives conducted through collaborations between Texas A&M Nuclear Engineering and national laboratory partners, including Los Alamos National Laboratory. βοΈπ¬
These are the kinds of experiences that transform classroom learning into real-world opportunitiesβallowing students to see what is possible when curiosity, innovation, and academic excellence come together. From advanced engineering research to university-level problem solving, our Dragons are building the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to become the next generation of scientists, engineers, physicians, and innovators. ππ
At Science Academy, learning extends far beyond the classroom. Opportunities like the Texas A&M Summer Symposium exemplify our commitment to providing students with authentic, hands-on experiences that prepare them for success in college, careers, and beyond.
The future isnβt waiting for our Dragonsβitβs being built by them. ππ
