On this , Texas Tropical Trail highlights Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mercedes, which was organized in 1910. The American Rio Grande Land and Irrigation Co. provided property near the railroad tracks, where the church's congregation built its first building almost a year later. It was later sold and the original church building was moved to Washington and West Third streets. Another structure was built and dedicated in 1929. In 1945, the church was renamed Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Christmas bingo time!

We had had our Christmas Around the World this past Saturday. Everyone got there passports and learned about other countries, and how they celebrate Christmas. The children wore traditional clothing, and we also got to sample dishes from the countries that were being presented. Everyone had a great time!

We would like to thank our parents who helped with this years Christmas float, and also to thank the Mercedes Chamber of Commerce for putting together another great Christmas parade. We are extremely grateful dear Jesus for being awarded first place. Merry Christmas from Immanuel Lutheran School!🎄
