A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our newest FFA American Degree recipients! 👏🏼
Please join us in celebrating Branyon Bliss, Hailie Avery, Keira Koehn, Kolten Spielman, Tony Melo-Hernandez, and Garrett Gossman on earning the prestigious FFA American Degree!
The American Degree is the highest degree awarded by the National FFA Organization and represents years of dedication, hard work, SAE development, leadership, and service. We are incredibly proud of these students and all they have accomplished through FFA! 🌟
Congratulations, Branyon, Hailie, Keira, Kolten, Tony, and Garrett! Your hard work and commitment have truly paid off. We can’t wait to see where your agricultural journeys take you next!

Introducing your 2026-2027 GV FFA Chapter President, Gregory Hennagan 👏🏼 Greg is a Senior who enjoys showing sheep, competing in speaking competitions, participating in the small engines CDE, and going to conferences and leadership trainings. Outside of the FFA, he is a member of the water polo and swim team, and is part of multiple church groups. After Highschool Greg plans to attend Merced College for two years and then transfer to Fresno State to finalize his Agricultural Education Credentials. A fun fact about Greg is that he is also the 2026-2027 Sectional Sentinel, his duties require him to be a leader not only in our chapter but in the Merced-Mariposa Section, he promises to do his best to represent our chapter with pride. Another Fun fact about Greg is that this last year he participated in the Mullet Competition where he got to represent Golden Valley on stage at State Conference and show off his Mullet and took Reserve Champion! Greg’s biggest wish this coming year is to show as many members as possible that FFA isn’t just about winning competitions but it is also a family that will have your back throughout and after your high school careers.

Introducing your 2026-2027 GV FFA Chapter vice president, Gwendolyn Dockstader 👏🏼 Gwen is a junior who enjoys competing in speaking competitions, OH/nursery landscape competitions, and rabbit breeding. Outside of the blue jacket, she is a member of the flag football team, she is junior class president, and is very involved in numerous church activities. Some fun facts about your V.P. is that she dreams to be an ag. teacher in her future and she enjoys sewing and quilting with her grandma. One thing Gwen is excited about for this year as an officer is to get to know all the members and teach others that FFA isn’t just about farms and competitions, but also about family and community.

Introducing your 2026-2027 GV FFA Chapter Secretary
Katie Sandoval 👏🏼 Katie is a junior who enjoys making the most of every opportunity that comes her way! Through FFA, she loves being involved in leadership conferences, speaking competitions, showing rabbits, chapter events, and serving others while creating memories with friends. She is also apart of the Greenhand committee and loves working with new members trying to find their own place in FFA. Outside of the blue jacket, she is also a member of Cross Country, Varsity Golf, and Track & Field, she loves being active and having fun with her teammates. Outside of school, Katie loves giving back by helping her community, volunteering at her church, traveling and exploring new experiences, and spending quality time with her friends and family. She also enjoys doing arts and crafts, baking, cooking, and playing Roblox games in her free time. Some fun facts about Katie is that she absolutely loves minions and is a huge fan of the bob. Another fun fact about her is she’s one out of ten kids in her family. This year, Katie is most excited to make more memories meeting new people, leading alongside an amazing officer team, and helping make this year special for Golden Valley FFA.

Introducing your 2026-2027 Golden Valley FFA Chapter Treasurer, Makinna Woods 👏🏼 Makinna is a senior and has been a part of FFA for four years as well as becoming an officer her junior year and continuing into her senior year. Makinna is a part of the livestock show team and has spent her past four years showing swine. Outside of FFA, Makinna spends most of her time at the beach with friends or in the hills working with family cattle. A few of our treasurer’s favorite things are spending time with friends, baking, running, working with her animals, attending country concerts and lounging at the beach. After graduation Makinna plans to attend a university and pursue Veterinary Medicine, she hopes to go out of state where she would love to start her career and adult life. Makinna’s goal for this next school year is to bring a new energy to the Golden Valley FFA chapter and push for a more student engaged community within all grade levels.

Introducing your 2026-2027 GV FFA Chapter Reporter, Aubri Villa 👏🏼 Aubri is a Senior who enjoys rabbit showmanship, vet science, and prepared speaking competitions. Outside of the FFA, she is a member of Golden Valley’s cross country and track varsity teams, serves as the Head of Hair and Makeup Design for our theater program, a film editor for our film students, and an AVID officer. A few fun facts about our reporter are that she used to compete in horseback riding and dance, and she aspires to advocate for wildlife across California and beyond in her future career. In her upcoming year of service, she’s most excited about connecting with members through new opportunities, through social media by documenting fun events, and by making the most of all chapter activities.

Introducing your 2026–2027 Golden Valley FFA Chapter Sentinel, TJ Whitfield! TJ is a sophomore at Golden Valley High School who enjoys showing Shorthorn cattle, showing goats, raising laying hens, and helping on his family’s five-generation ranch, Sunny Day Shorthorns. In his free time, he enjoys building LEGO creations and detailed model train dioramas. TJ values spending time with friends, especially Chapter President Greg, and enjoys connecting with others through FFA. Outside of FFA, he plays trumpet in the Golden Valley Cardinal Regime, performs in theater productions, plays baseball, where he finished his freshman season with a .530 batting average, and is a member of the Golden Valley Clay Cats Trap Shooting Team, where he won the state JV title. A lifelong San Francisco Giants fan, TJ believes in building lasting solutions rather than complaining. After high school, he plans to attend Fresno State to study agricultural education and hopes to one day own a registered Shorthorn cattle ranch, continuing his family’s long tradition of agricultural excellence. As Chapter Sentinel, TJ is excited to meet new people, strengthen friendships, and build connections throughout Golden Valley FFA and beyond while serving his chapter with enthusiasm and dedication.
